the happy couple

New Rules for Hide and Seek

Last night, Kaylie asked me if I would play a game with her. I was thinking, Candyland, memory, etc.) Then she asked me to play hide and seek, I agreed cause its been awhile since I had played it with them, Jack and Kaylie usually play it with each other.

So she hid first and started giggling when I said "Ready or not here I come"
Then she would call out, Mommy I am in (certain room)

It was her turn to count and she got so excited after 5 that she said, mommy I forgot my numbers, so from my hiding place I am helping her count. This went on for while

When Jack joined in the fun, he would tell either of us where the other one was. He also called out what room he was in.

Kaylie's giggle always gave her away, and if I pretended to look in a room where she was as soon as I left she would say mommy I'm in here.

gingerbread......

Jack saw me sneak a frozen gingerbread cookie one night and had to have one himself. After several minutes of eating his cookie, he said,'Here you go mom, I'm finished." I took the cookie and it had the body of the gingerbread left. I said, "You're not going to eat the rest?" And he said, "Nope, I just ate the head. legs and arms of the gingerbread man, thats all I wanted!"

Tag

Kaylie and Jesse were talking the other night when Kaylie came up to Jesse and said, "Tag, your it." Jesse tagged her back and said, "Tag your it." This went back anf fourth about ten times when finally Jesse said,"Tag, your it, no Backsies." Without missing a beat Kaylie, touched Jesse and said, "Tag, your it, no Frontsies."

I looked at Jesse and said, did she say frontsies, he nodded then then all three of us started laughing!

16 hour fever

OK can anyone solve this medical mystery?

Kaylie has been whiny and clingy for about three day, and I'm thinking, oh great she is getting sick cause also she has been napping, which she does not do on a regular basis, remember now she is my night owl, and fights sleep all the time. So I picked them up from day care at 1:30 yesterday and we went to play at school, and when we left about 3 she was running a low temp, and was complaining of a tummy ache, and was tired, I forced some Motrin down her throat, and she took a nap. She ate supper, ran around for awhile and then her fever spiked again. Her dad put her to bed, after she refused more medicine at 10:00. She woke up at 2:30 Burning ( 103.8 temp) I gave her some Motrin ( she didn't have the strength to fight me) A half an hour later she asked to go back to her bed, and at 8:30 this morning she came to me bright eyed and bushy tailed, with NO FEVER and seems fine??

sing a song

A couple days ago, Jack discovered the long lost ukulele. You see the kids each got one for their second birthday, straight from Hawaii via their grandparents, they destroyed one of them in days, and I hid the other one for safe keeping until they were older, and Jack found it the other day. He sits down puts one leg over the other and strums and sings songs, which is one of the cutest things I have ever seen! Last night I had a couple of girlfriends over and he wanted to show everyone his newly discovered toy, I said" Jack what do you got there?"

"My Uncle Larry", he said

All day he had been calling it his uncle laly.

All my friends thought this was pretty darn cute, and one friend said that definitely has to go on your blog.

thing I'm thankful for today

I know this is late................ But I am thankful for:

the kids' excitement for snow

we are all healthy

my children's beautiful singing

their excitment over a simple gift like toothpaste

the way it amazes me how they learn something every day

their energy to play, and play
