Dear Kaylie and Jack

Today is your 4th birthday, although I meant to write you this letter this morning, I am finally getting to it tonight. You are today as always the joy in my life. My love grows stronger for you each day. You never cease to amaze me with your witty humor, innocent gestures, and yes, I even enjoy the way you sceam together to get into major trouble. Happy 4th Birthday my loves!

Jackisms

Had to share these from the last couple of days too!

Last night at Jesse's parents, Jesse bonked heads with Jack when playing around on the bed. Jesse acted knoked out, and after several attempts to wake him up, jack looked at his nanny and said," I think he's dead, how are we going to get home?" (fat lip and all!)

When Jesse's mom called today to wish the kids happy birthday, Kaylie wouldn't talk to her, so Jack pretended to be Kaylie (WOW! What an imagination!) She said he talked in a high pitched very soft voice(just like my daughter) and even answered questions like, What swimming suit are you wearing tonight, answer(my Dora one) She called later and asked about it, so I asked Jack and he just giggled and said yes, I pretended to be Kaylie!

PHILOSOPHICAL FOUR:
I actually did do a little cleaning today, while the kids were playing with Jesse, I was dusting the China hutch, which hasn't been done since we moved in(4+ years) so I thought whay not now!
Jack came over to see what I was doing and I told him about the dishes in the bottom of the hutch, "Jack, these are your Great- Grandma Phyllis' dishes that she left to your daddy when she died, They are very special to us, someday you will have these dishes!" (pondering moment) "I can take them now, we don't need you and Daddy to take care of us anymore." OK, "how are you going to pay for food?" He didn't answer, guess they are staying for awhile!

A little while later after Jack looked at the picture we have of us and Phyllis, Jack said, "Can we go visit her sometime mommy?" Yes hun, we can go to her grave someday, he was satisfied with that.

Bithday Bliss

Hello from the birthday house. Kaylie and Jack turned 4 today! Here is how our day went! (Thursday)

They actually SLEPT in !!! I awoke at 8:00 and tried to get back to sleep but of course I couldn't. About 8:30 Kaylie rolled in as happy as sunshine and I wished her a happy birthday! We snuggled and then Jack came in about 8:45 and Jesse and I both wished him a happy birthday and here is what happened next:
Jack: "It's not my birthday"
Mom: Yes it is honey, remember that is all you talked about yesterday , that today you were going to turn 4!
Jack: Well then, "Where's my CAKE?" (in the most serious of voices)
(((giggles from mom and dad)))))

All day they insisted that it was not their birthday, not sure but maybe it was because we aren't having the party till tommorrow(friday)

Lunch at the DQ

We got about 10 phone calls today here is how that went
Jack: yep, 4, ok, bye bye
Kaylie: NO I DON'T WANT TO TALK!!!

Where does she get that attitude???

After we had pizza and went swimming with some friends Jack was so overtired that he said I don't want to be 4, I will stay three, Kaylie agreed?? HMM Well tom morrow is another day and I think they are siked for thier party!

Pillows and Pitchures

I walk out into the living room from hanging up some laundry and notice that Kaylie is lining up couch pillows, in front of the front door and currently on the stairs. She does this every so often, and even though I thought they were ready for bed at 8:00 and put them there they are both still up, silly me they had a small car nap today! (What was I thinking??!!)

This very story goes to show that Kaylie is the sunshine in my life. She is a dramaqueengrumpypantsprincess that brightens my day no matter what my mood. I was a little grumpy (blame it on happy hour) and the pillows lined up on the floor made me smile! Kaylie is quirky, and a ray of hope in my gloomiest of days.

As soon as I smiled my mind said,"Quick go and blog this right away!" Everybody tells you that you don't blog enough about Kaylie, there has been too many failed chances lately and this is your opportunity! My anal retentive mind said, "No, Wait, you still have to unload the dishwasher." Not everyone knows this but I can't sit down and pay bills, do homework or anything until my house is straightened up!" I was always a late night studier in college because of this very reason, okay, so back to the story.....

While unloading the dishwasher, I spotted a pitcher which made me want to make Kool- Aid, that sugary substance that I drank quite often as a kid, and vowed not to let my kids have to much (cause is has sooo much sugar) but on a whim I bought some the other day, and it sounded good, and there is no wine in the house right now darn it! SO I made some after unloading the dishwasher and sat down to tell this story!

Kaylie wants me and the universe to know that they are "pillow towers" and if you've ever built a pillow tower, they don't get too high and fall down a lot. Try it sometime.

On a very thankful side note, my mother - in - law Nancy's surgery went well today and her outlook is very hopeful!

It's been awhile....

It's been awhile since I have posted. We have been crazy busy lately it seems. Kaylie and Jack went to the Mall of America with their nanny and papa (Jesse's parents) last weekend, and had a good time. They left me the most adorable message on Saturday night, they both told me they missed me and told me all the fun they had, they were in bed by 6:30 and stayed all night! They were actually with their grandparents the whole weekend. I finally got a weekend away to catch up on some scrapbooking and Jesse was working. The mall was busy, they waited over an hour for the last ride and then started fighting with each other so they left early and had enough!

When I talked to Jack on the phone Sunday, I said how was Nikelodean? He said, "Oh it was boring." I asked why and he said,"cause we went to Sponge Bob's house and he wasn't there!"

Some other things the kids have been saying lately;

Jack: Mom how did we get in your tummy?
Me: It was a miracle
Jack: after a little hesitation,"Did we crawl down your throat?

Jack: Double Galmations = 101 Dalmations ( which is currently his favorite movie) He has also learned the word idiot and imbecile from the movie, so we have had to tell him not to say those words!

Kaylie is turning into a mommy's girl, she has always been a daddy's girl, but she is needing her mommy right now, and gets really sad if I am leaving to go somewhere. "Mama I need you"

Also she says after washing the very stubborn marker off her hands," That soap just won't do the trick"

Also currently we cannot get them to clean their rooms cause their feet are too tired, and they can't walk!!! Such Drama!
